MADISON, Wis. (Civic Media) — The state Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) has filed a disciplinary complaint against former Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman, alleging rule violations during his election inquiry.

The 10-count complaint stems from Gableman’s work as special counsel for the Wisconsin State Assembly, where he was hired by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to investigate the 2020 presidential election. His investigation yielded no results.

According to the complaint, Gableman is accused of ethical issues, including filing petitions with false statements, violating open records laws, and disobeying court orders.

The complaint notes that Gableman, operating through his company Consultare LLC, was paid $11,000 monthly during the 4 month investigation.

The filing asks the State Supreme Court to sanction Gableman and to impose possible fines.
